Can knowing too much be dangerous?

There’s a lot of talk about how dangerous the Internet can be: the indecent images and videos, the bomb-making tutorials and all the instructional and educational stuff – usually on things which you’d never be able to find a library book on. But if you ask me it’s the services on finding out information on people that are the most suspicious. For example, did you know that there are services you can use, which cost very little, where you can gain access to someone’s mobile phone and see where they are at any given time? It’s absolutely true and in the click of just a few buttons you could be tracking someone wherever they go. It works internationally too, in case you were wondering. Oh, and it’s completely legal, which means that if your phone does get hacked then there is very little you can actually do about it.

This is a pretty scary thought. Although you have to have physical access to someone’s phone to set this up, I’m sure that for many people that wouldn’t be too difficult. In a work situation it’d be easy in fact. How does that make you feel about having a work mobile now?

It’s true that you can get carried away, though. The tattoo removal cost you saw yesterday being twice as high today because you’re on a different web-site, and it making you panic, is a fine example.

All I know is that I shall be keeping an eye on my phone from now on!
